Nicolás Vázquez honors Late Brother with Touching Times Square Photo Re-Creation
new York, NY – Argentine actor Nicolás Vázquez deeply moved fans this week by recreating a cherished photograph of his late brother, Santiago, in New York City’s Times Square. Vázquez shared the poignant tribute on his Instagram account (@nicovazquezok) on Friday, November 21, revealing a long-held desire to honor Santiago’s memory in the city he always dreamed of visiting.
Santiago had traveled to New York before his passing in 2016, sending a photo of himself wearing a black and white jacket emblazoned with “Kaiser of New York” to their family. That photo remains his father’s WhatsApp profile picture to this day.
Vázquez explained he’d kept the jacket and, during a recent trip to New York – inspired by the film Rocky – finally felt ready to recreate the image. “I have wanted to take this photo for many years,” he wrote.”On one of his last trips, my brother Santi…traveled to a city that he had always dreamed of visiting: New York. We had always wanted to experience it together…but it didn’t happen.”
He posed with his back to the camera in Times Square, wearing the same jacket, and then digitally combined the images of himself and Santiago. “I put on his jacket,went to the same place and took the photo. I brought it as a surprise to my dad,” Vázquez shared.
The actor emphasized the enduring connection he feels with his brother. “Two different times, the same love. And something that I reaffirm every day: we are connected. Beyond the planes, beyond the visible. I’m sorry, I know it, and I truly believe it.Always together!”
