Actor Noah Centineo, known for his⁢ roles in Black Adam and the upcoming ⁣ Street Fighter film, is‍ reportedly in discussions to join Legendary Pictures’ live-action adaptation of⁣ the iconic Japanese​ anime Mobile Suit Gundam. This potential casting ​adds another key player to ⁣the project, ⁣which already stars Sydney Sweeney in⁢ a ​lead role.

Legendary Pictures‌ has been developing a ​ gundam film for some​ time, aiming to ⁤bring⁢ the sprawling sci-fi universe to a⁢ wider audience. The ⁣project,written and‍ directed ‌by⁢ Jim Mickle (Sweet Tooth),has been ‍shrouded in secrecy regarding its ​plot.‍ Though, details suggest the ​film may‍ draw inspiration from The⁢ 08th⁢ MS Team,⁤ focusing on a conflict between pilots from the Earth Federation and the ⁣principality‍ of Zeon who ⁤develop ‌a connection amidst war.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Legendary is being cautious with casting announcements “for sensitivity reasons,” having previously considered Queer ⁣ star Drew Starkey for the role now being ‍discussed with Centineo. Sweeney is ‌reportedly “very ‍much involved” in​ selecting her ‍co-lead,⁣ as the characters are⁣ intended⁢ to be ⁣on⁣ opposing sides​ of‍ a planetary conflict.
