Title: Vidi Aldiano Lawsuits Dismissed: Key Details & Next Steps

Lawsuits Against Vidi⁤ Aldiano Dismissed, But legal battle May Not ⁣Be Over

Jakarta, November ⁣21, 2025 – Three‍ lawsuits filed against singer Vidi Aldiano⁣ regarding copyright and creator credit have been declared “Unacceptable” (Niet Ontvankelijke Verklaard/NO) by a⁢ panel of⁣ judges at the⁢ Central Jakarta district Court, ‌but the legal path remains open for the⁤ plaintiffs. The cases, brought by Keenan Nasution, Rudi Pekerti, and another‌ party, alleged unauthorized⁢ distribution ⁤of a song and improper metadata attribution on digital platforms like Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube Music.

Keenan Nasution initially sought IDR 3 billion⁣ in compensation, while Rudi Pekerti demanded a change in creator name metadata and IDR 900 million in damages. however, attorney M Firman Akbar, representing vidi aldiano, ⁢clarified that the ‌”unacceptable” ruling does not equate to a dismissal on the merits of the case.

“Actually it’s like this, in a lawsuit, if the Panel of Judges declares the ⁣Plaintiff’s claim ‘Unacceptable’, that is not ‘free from the‌ lawsuit’,”⁤ Firman Akbar explained to journalists friday. ⁢”In Civil this is different⁢ from Criminal… In⁣ civil,⁢ you can only reject the lawsuit, grant the lawsuit,‍ or declare the lawsuit unacceptable.”

Firman Akbar emphasized that the court’s decision focused on formal ‌defects in the filings, meaning the lawsuits were flawed ⁣in their presentation rather than the underlying claims. Specifically, the panel found the lawsuits incomplete due to ⁤a lack of necessary parties.

While⁤ the plaintiffs are responsible ⁣for covering‍ court costs,⁢ no fines were levied.Firman Akbar noted that plaintiffs retain the⁢ option to file an ‌appeal (cassation) within⁢ 14‌ days or submit a new lawsuit addressing the court’s concerns⁣ regarding ⁢completeness. “The new lawsuit must of course take into account the Judge’s considerations in the ⁣previous case which declared the formal defect,” he stated.

The verdicts were delivered on November 19, ‍2025, with all parties notified electronically. Firman Akbar‌ concluded by expressing hope for ⁤a ⁣peaceful resolution to the civil dispute, ‌emphasizing the importance of ensuring all parties receive their due rights.
