Boise Murder: Man Charged After Friend’s Death at Hotel

BOISE BENCH, Idaho ​- A Boise man faces a first-degree murder charge following the⁣ death of ‍another man at a hotel in the 2500 block of Sunrise Rim Rd. on Monday.⁣ Brian ⁤Jones, 36, was arrested at the scene and is accused in the death of Abel‍ Garcia Jr.

the case centers on conflicting accounts of‍ the death, ⁤with Jones initially suggesting the incident was a suicide. ‍However,statements to police‌ reveal​ a starkly different narrative,raising questions about the circumstances surrounding Garcia’s death and the legality of assisted suicide ⁤in Idaho,where it remains prohibited. According to a news ​release from the Boise Police ‍Department, officers responded to a ​call at the hotel and immediately took Jones into custody.They⁣ discovered Garcia’s body ⁤in a separate room. Ada County‌ Paramedics attempted ‍life-saving measures, but Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say Jones initially told dispatch the death was an assisted suicide. Later, speaking to ⁣officers, Jones reportedly stated, “I Fucking killed my friend. He was asking for⁣ it. I don’t feel bad.” ⁢

An officer’s testimony ⁣indicates Garcia may have been​ held in a chokehold for ​as long as ten minutes. The investigation continues as authorities work to finalize details and⁣ notify Garcia’s family.
