Keychron ‌Q1 HE 8K: A Premium, Customizable Gaming Keyboard

The Keychron Q1 HE 8K delivers a premium unboxing experience, continuing a trend seen ⁢in other Keychron ‍keyboards. Beyond the‍ keyboard itself, the inclusion of extra macOS keycaps, disassembly ⁢tools, and a selection‍ of gaskets, screws, and feet encourages users to personalize their‌ setup.

Build quality is a strong point. the aluminum case‌ boasts a consistent, flawless finish,⁤ free‌ of blemishes. ⁤During testing,a minor issue was noted: some of the ultra-fast magnetic Lime switches exhibited slight looseness within their sockets. While none dislodged, ‌the play was perceptible‌ during‌ switch removal for audio testing.

The keyboard utilizes keychron’s standard white-on-black double-shot PBT keycaps, presented in the OSA profile. ⁤Despite being marketed⁤ as “OEM Spherical Angle,” the keycaps feature a cylindrical, rather than spherical, top. Though, they provide a ‍comfortable typing experience comparable to those found on the Keychron K4 HE.

A redesigned adjustable knob adds a touch ‍of style ⁢with a small purple aluminum⁢ plate. The color scheme seamlessly integrates with the keyboard case, though the⁣ purple accent is a shade darker than the ⁢corresponding accent keys. While ⁣visually appealing, ⁢the texture on the knob’s side presents a⁤ slightly reduced grip compared to the knurled designs of previous ‍Keychron⁣ models. ⁤Despite this, the knob⁢ remains a useful feature, offering programmable macro functionality beyond ⁤the‌ default volume control.

the⁣ Keychron Q1 HE 8K⁣ presents a well-built and⁣ highly ‍customizable keyboard suitable ‍for gaming‌ and general use, functioning reliably in‌ both wired and wireless configurations.
