Cagliari Film Series Explores AI’s Impact on Human Connection
CAGLIARI, Sardinia – the Greenwich d’Essai cinema in Cagliari is hosting “Future Screens: AI between Utopia and Dystopia,” a film series examining the evolving relationship between artificial intelligence and human experience.Curated by Antonello Zanda, the series features screenings, discussions, and insights into how advanced technology is reshaping social, intimate, and identity dynamics.
Upcoming events include a November 11th screening of spike Jonze’s 2013 film her, starring Joaquin Phoenix and featuring the voice of Scarlett Johansson, exploring themes of digital loneliness and emotional connection with AI. Cultural operator Daniela Stara of the Cineteca Sarda Humanitarian Society will present the film.
On November 13th, the series will showcase Gabriele Salvatores’ 1997 cyberpunk film nirvana, a rare example of Italian science fiction, focusing on the relationship between a creator and his virtual creation. Stara will also introduce this screening.
