U of A Student Achieves Overnight TikTok Fame, Balancing viral Success with Veterinary School Aspirations
TUCSON, AZ – University of Arizona student Audrey Beardsley has rapidly gained online prominence after a TikTok dance video propelled her to viral status, amassing millions of views and a growing following. While navigating newfound internet fame, Beardsley remains committed to her academic pursuits as a final-year student aiming for veterinary school.
The sudden surge in popularity presents a unique situation for Beardsley, highlighting the evolving landscape of social media influence and its intersection with traditional academic goals. Beardsley’s mother, Audrey Beardsley, a U of A alumna and former Kappa, emphasized her daughter’s grounded nature. “She’s not yoru typical TikTok star,” she said. “She’s smart, grounded, and realistic. If it all goes away tomorrow, she’s still going to vet school.”
The online attention has not swayed Beardsley from her commitment to authenticity. She carefully selects brand partnerships, promoting only products she genuinely uses, and intends to utilize her platform to address more considerable issues in the future. Currently,her brand collaborations include Coach,Scuffers,White Fox,Cider,Nyx Professional Makeup,and local Arizona businesses like desertsunvintage.
“I don’t want to just post lip combos forever,” Beardsley stated. “If I’m going to have a voice, I want to use it for something meaningful.”
Despite the whirlwind of attention, Beardsley is prioritizing her studies. “Right now, I’m just taking it one day at a time,” she said.”School comes first, but if I can be someone relatable who shows you can balance both worlds – even better.”
