-Costa Rican Woman Murdered: Son and Partner Charged in US Crime

tennessee⁤ Authorities Investigate Gruesome Murder of ‍Costa Rican Woman

Lewis Chapel, ‌TN – ⁣A ​costa Rican woman, identified by authorities ⁢as Vílchez Mora, 50, was allegedly brutally murdered in⁢ Sequatchie County, Tennessee, by her son,⁢ Vilchez‌ Mora,‍ 18, and his partner, Gardiner, 64. The case began on Tuesday, October 28, after the Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office received a tip regarding a possible missing person.

Investigators⁣ obtained a search warrant for the family’s property and, ⁤on Thursday, October 30, discovered evidence suggesting Vílchez Mora had ‌been beaten to death. According⁢ to reports, the son initially told officers his mother had⁤ traveled to⁣ Costa ‌rica. Though, a ‍search of the⁤ home revealed “red stains ⁤on carpet ‌believed to be blood, red splatters on walls, desks ‌and photographs,”‍ and an industrial‍ vacuum cleaner ⁢containing suspected blood, according to News ⁢Channel ABC.

The examination led authorities to a​ wooded area near the residence where they found‌ a bonfire containing human remains identified by Coroner Karen Shepherd as belonging to Vílchez Mora. Additional suspicious human remains ‌were discovered nearby.

Both Vilchez Mora and Gardiner have been charged with ​murder⁤ and‍ desecration of a corpse. A judge denied bail to both men during a hearing on‌ Friday​ and appointed legal counsel for their⁤ defense.A ⁤preliminary hearing is scheduled for ​December 8. Vílchez Mora‌ is originally from Heredia,⁤ Costa Rica.
