Google Photos Expands AI Editing Capabilities to iOS,Adds ‘Create wiht AI’ section
MOUNTAIN VIEW,CA – November 12,2025 – Google is rolling out a suite of new artificial intelligence features to its Photos app, bringing advanced editing tools to iOS users in the U.S. and expanding existing functionalities for Android. The updates include voice and text-prompted image editing, a new “Create with AI” section powered by the Nano Banana model, and wider availability of the “Ask Photos” search tool.
Previously launched for Android in August 2025, the AI-powered editing feature allows users to modify images using natural language prompts. Alongside this, iOS users are also gaining access to the redesigned photo editor introduced in May 2025, offering editing via gestures and one-tap suggestions.
A key addition is the “Create with AI” section, found under the “Create” tab. This feature provides AI templates for popular edits, enabling users to quickly generate images without manual prompting. Images within this section are generated by Nano Banana. Initially available to Android users in the U.S. and India, Google plans to personalize these templates based on individual user habits in the coming weeks.
Further enhancing photo association, Google’s “Ask Photos” tool – which allows users to search their photo library using descriptive queries – is now available in over 100 countries and supports 17 new languages. An “Ask” button has also been added for individual images, allowing users to query the AI about image content and request edits.
