Israel and U.S. Reach Agreement to Relocate 200 Hamas Fighters From Rafah

An agreement brokered between Israeli Prime Minister ⁣Benjamin Netanyahu and⁢ Jared‌ Kushner has⁤ been reached to facilitate the deportation of approximately 200 Hamas fighters currently trapped in tunnels beneath Rafah, according to an Israeli source. The deal stipulates Israel will permit the safe ‍transfer of these fighters out‍ of ⁣Palestinian ‍territory, though as of yet, no nation has ⁣formally‌ agreed⁤ to accept them.

The arrangement comes amid ongoing conflict in Rafah, a ‌city east ⁣of the “yellow line” – a demarcation‌ established in the October 10th ceasefire agreement defining areas of Israeli troop control – ⁢and persistent violations of the ceasefire by Israeli attacks resulting in Palestinian casualties. This move signals a potential shift in strategy regarding Hamas operatives besieged in the area, but its success hinges on securing international cooperation for⁤ their resettlement.

The Israeli source indicated the agreement requires Israel⁢ to ‌ensure the fighters’ safe passage beyond‍ palestinian borders. However, no immediate confirmation of⁢ the report has been issued by authorities in the United ‍States, israel, or from Hamas itself.

Palestinians are currently restricted to⁢ movement west of the “yellow line,”‍ a zone frequently subject to Israeli military actions. On Sunday, November 9th, Hamas demanded accountability from Israel for clashes involving⁢ its fighters cornered in Rafah.
