Chicago Police Seek Suspect Following Weekend Stabbing at CTA Station
A woman was stabbed at a Chicago Transit Authority station in the West loop neighborhood Saturday night, prompting a police examination and a search for the suspect. The incident underscores ongoing safety concerns within the city’s public transportation system and highlights the chicago Police Department’s efforts to address violent crime.
the stabbing occurred around 11:14 p.m. on a train platform in the 400 block of S.Halsted street.According to police, the suspect approached a woman seated on a bench and stabbed her in the chest with a large knife before fleeing northbound on S. Morgan Street. The victim sustained a laceration.
Authorities describe the suspect as an African-American male, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing between 160 and 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a pink beanie, a gray hooded jacket, an orange sweater, light blue jeans, and white shoes, and carrying a gray book bag.
