Chicago Police Seek Suspect Following Weekend Stabbing at CTA Station
A woman was stabbed at a Chicago Transit Authority station in the West loop neighborhood Saturday night, prompting a police examination and a search for the suspect. the stabbing occurred around 11:14 p.m. on a train platform in the 400 block of S.Halsted street.According to police, the suspect approached a woman seated on a bench and stabbed her in the chest with a large knife before fleeing northbound on S. Morgan Street. The victim sustained a laceration.
Authorities describe the suspect as an African-American male, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing between 160 and 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a pink beanie, a gray hooded jacket, an orange sweater, light blue jeans, and white shoes, and carrying a gray book bag.
