ChicagoPolice⁣ Seek Suspect ​Following Weekend Stabbing at CTA Station

A woman was ‍stabbed at a Chicago Transit Authority ⁤station in the West loop neighborhood Saturday⁣ night, prompting a police examination and a ⁣search for ​the‌ suspect. The incident underscores ongoing safety concerns within the ⁤city’s public⁤ transportation system and highlights the chicago Police Department’s efforts to address ​violent⁤ crime.

the stabbing⁤ occurred around 11:14 p.m. on a train platform in the 400 block of S.Halsted street.According to police, the suspect approached a woman seated‌ on a bench and stabbed her in the chest with ​a large knife before fleeing northbound on S. Morgan Street. ‌The victim sustained a laceration.

Authorities describe the suspect⁢ as an African-American male, approximately ​6 ‌feet tall and weighing between 160 and ⁢180 pounds. He was⁢ last seen wearing⁢ a pink beanie, a gray hooded⁣ jacket,‍ an ​orange sweater, light ⁢blue‍ jeans, and white shoes, and ⁤carrying a gray book⁣ bag.
