The shift in focus comes as authorities continue to analyze the background of the attacker, identified as Agus Muhammad al-Mujahidin.While initially believed to be linked to Jemaah Islamiyah, a Southeast Asian militant group, investigators are now exploring personal grievances as a potential driving factor. National Police spokesman Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko stated investigators are examining Al-MujahidinS personal history, including potential conflicts or disputes. The bomber reportedly had a history of minor offenses and had recently lost his job. ”We are digging deeper into the suspect’s background to understand the root cause of his actions,” Andiko said.
The Monday morning explosion occured as Al-Mujahidin approached a security checkpoint outside the East Java police headquarters. Authorities say he detonated a device he was carrying. The injured included police officers and civilians.
