Sheffield Concludes Successful 2025 Hopes Week, Eight Players Selected for Intensive Advancement
SHEFFIELD, England – The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) concluded its 2025 Hopes Week in Sheffield, united Kingdom, selecting eight players for the Hopes Team following a week of intensive assessment and development.The program, a cornerstone of the ITTF’s talent identification strategy, showcased representation from across the globe, encompassing Asia, Africa, the Americas, Europe, and Oceania.
This year’s Hopes Week marks the culmination of a comprehensive pathway designed to identify and nurture young table tennis talent worldwide. From national-level competitions to Continental Hopes programs, the initiative provides crucial assessment and development opportunities, ultimately leading to the World Hopes Week. The selected Hopes Team members will now embark on an accelerated development journey featuring enhanced coaching, training, and competitive experiences.
The 2025 cycle demonstrated the maturity and effectiveness of the Hopes programme, with successful Continental activities delivered across all regions.Forty participants benefitted from international exposure, world-class instruction, and networking opportunities during the week-long event in Sheffield.

Looking ahead, the ITTF has officially opened the bidding process for the 2026 World Hopes Week, inviting Member Associations to submit proposals via https://forms.ittf.com/form/2026_world_hopes_week_and_challenge_bid_en. The program aims to continue providing a vital platform for emerging table tennis stars globally.
