Sony‘s 2026 Xperia Lineup Takes Shape in New Leak
New model numbers surfacing in a SIM database suggest Sony is planning a two-pronged smartphone release for 2026, continuing the strategy of launching both a flagship and mid-range device simultaneously. The leak, first reported by The Walkman Blog, details potential regional variants of the anticipated xperia 10 VIII alongside further iterations of the flagship Xperia 1 VIII.
Sony recently debuted its Xperia 10 VII, featuring a redesigned camera island. This followed the launch of the premium Xperia 1 VII earlier in the year. The new evidence indicates Sony will maintain this dual-device approach into 2026.
The SIM database reveals six model numbers – PM-1530-BV, PM-1531-BV, PM-1532-BV, PM-1533-BV, PM-1534-BV, and PM-1555-BV – presumed to be regional variations of the Xperia 10 VIII. A fourth variant of the Xperia 1 VIII was also identified, likely intended for the Japanese market.
While the model numbers themselves don’t reveal specific specifications, they confirm the development of both a successor to the Xperia 10 VII and the next-generation flagship. Current rumors suggest the Xperia 1 VIII will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 5 chipset, while the Xperia 10 VIII is expected to utilize a Snapdragon 6 series processor, similar to the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 found in the Xperia 10 VII.
The leak arrives as Sony continues to roll out Android 16 to its existing devices, including the Xperia 1 VI, Xperia 1 VII, and recently, the Xperia 10 VII in regions like Europe and Japan. A launch timeframe for the 2026 xperia models remains unknown.
