Dallas Cowboys Defensive End Marshawn Kneeland Dies at 24
Plano, Texas – Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marshawn kneeland has died at the age of 24, the team announced Saturday. Plano Police responded to a welfare concern at kneeland’s residence late Friday night, but made no contact with anyone at the time. details surrounding his death have not been released.
Kneeland,a second-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft,was in his first season with the Cowboys. He had recorded 12 combined tackles, including 6 solo tackles and 1 sack, in seven games played during the 2024 season. His sudden passing marks a tragic loss for the Cowboys organization and the NFL community.

A native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Kneeland starred at Western Michigan University from 2019 to 2023, totaling 148 combined tackles and 13.0 sacks during his college career. He was selected by Dallas with the 56th overall pick in the draft, representing a promising addition to the team’s defensive line.
Philadelphia Eagles Head Coach Nick Sirianni addressed Kneeland’s death during his Saturday news conference, stating, “The NFL is a brotherhood…obviously that was on our mind this morning.and our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and the and the Dallas Cowboys. It just puts things in outlook.”
