Prague,Czech Republic – A new Czech fantasy film,The Birth of the Alchemist,a continuation of the popular Princess Enchanted in Time series,will arrive in cinemas,offering a tale celebrating courage and embracing individuality. The film features over 500 visual effects, 14 main roles, and 30 supporting roles, and was filmed across multiple locations in the Czech Republic, including emauzy, Točník Castle, Slavicí údolí, the Řepor open-air museum, and Barrandov Studios.
The film’s creators emphasize the story’s themes of mystery, excitement, and the courage to be different, returning audiences to the world established in the Princess enchanted in Time films. Screenwriter, co-director, and composer lukáš Daniel pařík notes, “It’s a mysterious and exciting story full of surprises. And in addition, after years we are returning to the world of Princess Enchanted in Time.” The production notably involved fans of the original films as extras.
Actor Roman Zach, portraying the alchemist Archivalda, described the challenging but rewarding process of filming scenes requiring extensive visual effects: “A lot of trick scenes take place in front of a green screen…On the set, it truly seems almost absurd, but when you see the finished result after the work of the tricksters, it looks interesting and believable.”
Cyril the Good, another actor involved in the project, praised the film’s ambition, stating, “I think that a similar fantasy fairy tale has not yet been created in our country…The way the creators try to build an entire magical universe seems to me to be truly remarkable in the Czech environment.”
The film’s title song, “In good and bad,” was written by Roman Procházka of the band Divokej Bill and a music video is available to view HERE.
