india ‍has‌ clinched its first-ever Women’s Cricket World Cup title, defeating South⁤ Africa in a thrilling final match. The victory marks a historic ⁣moment for ⁢Indian cricket and ⁣solidifies the nation’s growing prominence in the sport.

The final, delayed by two hours⁤ due to ‍rain, saw India set a challenging target for South Africa. A ⁣dominant batting performance, spearheaded by Shafali Verma and a⁤ steady innings from Harmanpreet Kaur and Pooja Vastrakar, propelled India to a competitive ⁤total. After Mandhana’s dismissal in the 18th over by Chloe Tryon, Verma continued ⁤to ⁢build momentum with Jemimah Rodrigues,⁢ adding ⁣a further 62 runs to the total before both batters were out.

India’s innings experienced a ‌slight setback when captain Harmanpreet Kaur was bowled‌ by​ Nonkululeko Mlaba for 20 runs in the 39th over. However, Kaur had already combined with Pooja Vastrakar for ​a valuable 52 runs off 56 balls.
