Donald Trump has revealed he replaced teh art deco green tiles in a White House bathroom-historically used by members of Abraham Lincoln‘s cabinet-with black adn white marble and installed gold fixtures. Trump shared photos of the remodeled bathroom on his truth Social account, as reported by the BBC.
The renovation, part of a larger White House overhaul under Trump’s direction, aimed to restore the bathroom to a style more fitting of the Lincoln era, according to the former president. Trump stated the previous tiling, installed during a 1940s renovation under President Truman, was historically inaccurate. The updates include gold faucets, golden furnishings, and a crystal chandelier.
Trump claims the renovations are privately funded, covered by his own money and contributions from friends, similar to the financing of a recently added ballroom in the East Wing. he asserts the marble used may even match the original material from the bathroom’s earliest days.
This bathroom remodel follows othre significant changes Trump has made to the White House, including plans for a large ballroom and previous alterations to the building’s structure, details of which have been previously reported by Telex.
