Breaking: Multiple Stabbings on Train Near Huntingdon Leave Ten Hospitalized
huntingdon,Cambridgeshire – A stabbing incident aboard a train traveling from Doncaster to King’s Cross has left ten peopel injured,nine of them seriously,British authorities reported. The attack occurred near Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, prompting a large-scale emergency response and a police investigation involving the anti-terrorism unit.
Police arrested two individuals in connection with the incident, which was first reported at 7:39 PM local time. Over 30 officers, including armed personnel, responded to the scene.Investigators are conducting a thorough search of the train,utilizing canine units trained to detect weapons and drugs,to ensure no further threats remain.
Witnesses described a chaotic scene. Gavin, a passenger on the train, told Sky News he saw a person ”covered in blood” attempting to move through the train car, repeatedly stating, “They have a knife, they stabbed me.” Another witness reported seeing the injured passenger collapse after the train stopped and being promptly transported by ambulance. Passengers were afterward offloaded at the station, with reports indicating “multiple people had been stabbed.”
The East of England Ambulance Service deployed a notable response, including numerous ambulances, tactical commanders, a Hazardous Area Response Team, intensive care teams, and helicopters from East Anglian Medical Rescue and Essex & Herts Air Ambulance. “we can confirm that we have transported more patients to hospital,” a spokesperson stated.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer addressed the incident on X,stating,”The terrible incident on a train near Huntingdon is deeply worrying. My thoughts are with everyone who was affected, and my thanks go to the emergency services for their response. Anyone in the area should follow the advice of the police.”
The investigation is ongoing.
