Jennifer Lawrence Declares Political silence in Interviews
LOS ANGELES,CA – Jennifer Lawrence has announced she will no longer engage in discussions about Donald Trump or politics during press interviews,citing a past pattern of misrepresentation and personal exhaustion stemming from public commentary. The actor revealed her decision during a recent appearance on “The Interview” podcast,detailing a history of feeling “picked apart” and misrepresented following interviews.
Lawrence explained that past experiences,including perceived misinterpretations of awkward or nervous interview moments,led to a feeling of being a “fraud” and a desire to protect herself from further scrutiny. She recalled anxieties surrounding her initial success, specifically after her “Silver Linings Playbook” nomination and a highly publicized fall while accepting her Oscar, fearing public perception would turn negative. “I was just so tired of being quoted and people talking about the quotes, so tired of seeing myself in that way,” Lawrence stated.
The actor’s shift comes after years of being a visible public figure and occasionally offering political opinions. Lawrence noted she’s grown more reserved and cautious about public statements, aiming to avoid creating “sound bites and a word salad.” She emphasized a desire for authenticity and a more meaningful engagement with her work, rather than fueling perhaps divisive or misconstrued narratives.
“Doing interviews is really scary,” Lawrence saeid. “You’re putting yourself out ther to be picked apart.” She described the cycle of press tours as “grueling” and expressed a need for both herself and the public to take a “break from it,” framing the change as a “mutual breakup.”
