Patrick Sébastien Clarifies Political Aims, Won’t Run for President in 2027
Paris, France – October 30, 2023 - French television personality Patrick Sébastien has firmly stated he will not be a candidate in the 2027 presidential election, despite recent media speculation. The 71-year-old entertainer, however, is pressing forward with a political initiative he calls “Enough,” focused on directly influencing the platforms of future candidates.
Sébastien addressed the rumors in a video posted to his Facebook account on Tuesday, October 28, stating, “Hello everyone. I wanted to keep you informed of the evolution, of our momentum, of our movement, ‘Enough’, by clarifying once again, despite what I see writen, that I am not running for any election.” He emphasized his goal is not to receive votes for himself, but to “help you vote for yourself.“
The “Enough” movement centers on gathering proposals directly from the public. Sébastien reported an overwhelming response to his call for ideas submitted via email, requesting contributors to keep suggestions concise – avoiding lengthy documents and focusing on broad themes.
He outlined a plan to distill these proposals into a prioritized list, then present them to the final two candidates in the 2027 presidential election, seeking a firm commitment to implementation in exchange for the support of his movement. “The goal of our momentum is quite simply to organize what I call ‘democratic blackmail’…to choose the most realistic and the most achievable,” Sébastien explained. Common themes emerging from submitted proposals include security, purchasing power, immigration, and government waste.
Despite facing discouragement, Sébastien concluded with a resolute statement: “Despite those who try to discourage me, I promise you that we will go through to the end. I have made up my mind, not for myself, as I want nothing in this story, I only have blows to take, but for you and to improve your daily life.“
