Erin Jackson Intensifies Training with Winter Olympics 2026 on the Horizon
Milan-Cortina, Italy - With just 100 days remaining until the opening ceremony on February 6th, speed skater Erin Jackson is focused on securing her third consecutive appearance on Team USA at the Winter Olympics 2026. The gold medalist from the 2022 Games recently detailed her year-round training regimen, a carefully calibrated program designed to peak at the Milan-Cortina Games.
Jackson’s training cycle spans from April through March, allowing for a complete build-up to the Olympic Trials in January. “Big picture, we are training from april through March,” Jackson told E! News in a joint interview with dermatologist Dr. Camille Howard-Verovic. “We get two weeks off-that’s the last two weeks of March. Then we’re always right back into it.”
The program, overseen by coach Renee Hildebrand, is strategically adjusted throughout the year. During the summer months, jackson focuses on building endurance with “a lot of long hours, training, high volume, a bit lower intensity.” As the Games draw closer, the emphasis shifts. “Then, that switches to where it’s lower volume, higher intensity, and that’s where we are now,” Jackson explained.
The next phase, race season, begins in approximately two weeks, leading to a concentrated period of competition culminating in the Winter Olympics. Jackson’s dedication to this structured training plan underscores her commitment to defending her Olympic title and representing the United States on the world stage.
