LONDON, October 24, 2025 – British Prime Minister Keir starmer⁣ is urging increased support for Ukraine, particularly in the provision of⁤ long-range weaponry, ‍ahead of a meeting with⁤ a⁢ coalition of 26 european nations supporting Kyiv. “I believe we ‍can do‍ more in terms of means, particularly long-range means,” Starmer stated before the afternoon gathering. He also highlighted the importance of ⁣ongoing discussions regarding “security ‌guarantees” for Ukraine.

Downing‍ Street indicated Starmer‌ will advocate for utilizing ⁤frozen Russian⁤ assets to finance the delivery of “long range systems” and bolster ukrainian defense efforts, following Russia’s large-scale invasion.

The⁤ call for increased aid follows a meeting between Starmer and Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky, their third in ⁤the UK this year, after Zelensky received an audience with king Charles III.

Starmer, co-leading the coalition ‌with french President Emmanuel Macron, aims to “put Ukraine in the strongest possible position heading into winter,” as Moscow intensifies attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure,⁣ threatening power and heating access for the population.

Ukraine currently manufactures some long-range missiles – including Flamingo and ⁢Neptune – and ⁣receives‍ Scalp missiles from France and Storm Shadows from ‌the UK,⁢ though in ⁢limited quantities.
