Security Firm Wisag Deploys Autonomous Robots for Enhanced Surveillance

COLOGNE, ⁣GERMANY Wisag, a leading facilities management and⁢ security services provider, is partnering with robotics company Ascento to integrate autonomous robots into its security ‍operations. A recently completed three-month pilot program demonstrated the robots’ ability to handle routine tasks – including patrols, person recognition, and infrastructure checks – with greater frequency than human security⁣ personnel, freeing staff to focus on more complex security challenges.

The collaboration addresses growing demands for enhanced security and operational efficiency, particularly ⁣as organizations seek to optimize resource allocation and mitigate risks. By automating ⁢routine surveillance duties, Wisag aims to improve response times to anomalies and safety-critical situations, while also deploying robots in environments⁢ hazardous to human staff,⁢ such as areas with⁢ chemical leaks or extreme conditions. The ‍robots, built primarily with components sourced⁢ from the EU and ‌Switzerland, offer data storage within⁤ Switzerland and are provided as a Robotics-as-a-Service solution including maintenance‌ and support by Ascento.

Ascento’s robots are designed to perform tasks such as tours, person recognition, fence and gate checks, and visual inspections of doors, windows, and lighting.During the pilot project, the robots consistently outperformed human colleagues in the frequency of routine‍ tasks like patrols and parking monitoring. This allowed Wisag’s security ‍staff to concentrate on access⁤ control, interior monitoring, and securing sensitive areas.

Ascento provides the robots as part of ‌a Robotics-as-a-Service model, encompassing maintenance and ongoing support. Further data can be found at www.wisag.de.
