Title: Philadelphia Police Find Human Remains in Missing Woman Case

by Emma Walker – News Editor

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -‌ Philadelphia police⁣ on⁤ Saturday recovered human remains in a wooded area during the search for 23-year-old‍ Kada Scott, who has been missing for approximately two weeks. The ‌remains were ‌found behind an abandoned school in a shallow grave, and investigators believe they might potentially ‌be Scott’s, though official confirmation awaits analysis by the medical examiner’s‌ office.

The⁢ revelation comes as⁢ 21-year-old Keon King remains in custody, charged with‍ kidnapping, ⁤stalking,‍ and ⁢related offenses in connection with Scott’s disappearance. King’s case has raised concerns about the justice system, as he was previously released on bail after being charged in a similar case earlier this year.Deputy Commissioner John Stanford stated at a news conference that an anonymous ⁣tip led police ⁤back to⁤ the area, which had been previously searched. “We are not going to confirm, at this point, ⁣that it is‌ Kada Scott because that has to be done by the medical examiner’s office,” Stanford said. “There’s ‌still a lot of work to be done.” He added that the remains appeared to be those ⁣of a woman who had been deceased for ‍several days.

Investigators ‍have been in contact with Scott’s family, but further details are being withheld to protect the integrity of⁢ the ongoing investigation. As of Sunday, the Philadelphia Police Department and the medical examiner’s office ⁤have not released additional updates. King’s bail is set at $2.5 million, and a preliminary hearing‍ is scheduled for next month. His defense⁢ attorney has ⁢not yet commented on the case.
