Milwaukee Brewers Ban Fans Involved in ‘Call ICE’ Incident from Stadium
Milwaukee, WI – The Milwaukee Brewers have banned two fans involved in an altercation during an NLCS game at American Family Field, the team announced. The incident stemmed from a confrontation captured on video and widely circulated online.
According too a team statement, Milwaukee Police ejected one fan for disorderly conduct and public intoxication, unrelated to the events depicted in the video. The statement further noted the other individual involved became physically aggressive. Both fans are now prohibited from attending future events at the ballpark.
The incident began when Ricardo Fosado, a Los Angeles resident and U.S. citizen who served in the Navy from 2001-05, including deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq, began recording Milwaukee fans and questioning their lack of vocal support. Shannon Kobylarczyk responded with a vulgar comment and then told a fellow Brewers fan to “call ICE,” referring to U.S.Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Fosado, of Mexican heritage, was subsequently removed from the stadium after being reported to security by Kobylarczyk. He told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel the exchange involved “banter back and forth” that he didn’t consider disrespectful.
Kobylarczyk was later fired from her job with ManpowerGroup and resigned from her position on the Wisconsin board of directors at Make-A-Wish. Despite the incident, Fosado expressed sympathy for Kobylarczyk, telling the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel he didn’t believe she should have lost her job.
“I feel bad for her,” Fosado said. He also stated he had a positive overall experience at the game, adding, “I had a grate experience and everybody was really friendly and welcoming. So I don’t take that one incident and label the whole entire day bad.”
