Udine,Italy – October 14,2025 – Violent clashes broke out in Udine this evening as a large pro-Palestinian presentation coincided with the Italy-Israel football match at the Friuli stadium. A journalist was reportedly injured, sustaining a head wound during the unrest. Authorities estimate approximately 10,000 protestors participated in the procession organized by the Committee for Palestine of Udine.
the demonstration commenced from Piazza della Repubblica and proceeded through the city center, timed to coincide with the 8:45 PM kickoff of the italy-Israel match. The convergence of the protest and the international sporting event prompted a massive security operation, with hundreds of law enforcement personnel deployed throughout the northern sector of Udine and around the stadium. Security measures included pre-filtering of the roughly 9,000 fans attending the match,and also the presence of snipers,drone surveillance,and bomb-sniffing canine units. Both national football teams received escorted transport between their hotels and the stadium, and again following the match’s conclusion.
