Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt – U.S. President Donald Trump signed ​a peace plan for Gaza ‍today‍ alongside a ​gathering of international leaders, signaling a renewed​ push for stabilization and⁤ reconstruction in ​teh region. The ceremony, held in ‍Sharm el-Sheikh, brought together key players including Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-sisi, Turkish President ‍Recep ‍Tayyip Erdogan, ​and the‌ Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, alongside representatives⁣ from several other nations.

Discussions on the sidelines of the ⁢signing focused ​heavily on the ⁣urgent need to​ increase humanitarian access to‌ Gaza, addressing‍ the extensive needs​ of the civilian population. Attendees included British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Canadian Prime Minister Michael Carney, Jordan’s King ⁣Abdullah ⁤II, and ⁣Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal‌ bin ⁤Farhan​ Al Saud. The agreement aims to ​lay the groundwork for long-term recovery and rebuilding efforts⁣ in the⁤ Gaza Strip.

A⁣ meaningful moment occurred as President‍ Trump greeted Palestinian President Abu Mazen, engaging⁢ in the longest bilateral ⁣exchange with​ a leader​ at the ​summit – a‌ conversation ‌lasting approximately ninety seconds, during which Trump ⁤primarily ‍listened⁤ and nodded.⁤ The Palestinian leader arrived near the end of the⁣ proceedings, accompanied to the stage​ by french President macron.

The event drew significant media attention, with 232 ​journalists and correspondents from foreign outlets accredited, according⁤ to​ Diaa Rashwan,​ president of the Egyptian State Data Service. The breakdown included 14⁤ U.S.newspapers,32 ⁢European ⁤publications,22 Asian media organizations,and ⁢17 from Arab countries.

During the official family⁤ photo, President Trump and President al-Sisi ⁤were positioned at the center, flanked by Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and ⁣King Abdullah II of Jordan‍ on one side, and President ​Erdogan⁤ of Türkiye on the other. Italian ‌Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni ‌was the‍ only female‍ leader ‌present, positioned at the far left of the stage. Abu Mazen​ stood on the right, ​alongside Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
