Sports Day: Bayern Rumors Silence Dortmund ⁤defender

BELFAST,⁤ Northern Ireland – Borussia Dortmund center-back Nico Schlotterbeck declined to address speculation linking him ‍with a move to rival FC Bayern Munich, remaining ‍tight-lipped ahead of germany’s World Cup qualifier against Northern Ireland. The 25-year-old’s reticence fuels ongoing transfer rumors ⁢as Bayern‍ continues to reshape its ‌defense.

Schlotterbeck’s silence comes amid reports of Bayern’s ⁢interest in bolstering their backline, perhaps targeting⁤ the Dortmund player. When questioned⁤ in Belfast, Schlotterbeck simply stated, “I can’t really say anything about that,” regarding the alleged interest from the “record champions.” This standoffish response underscores ‌the sensitivity surrounding potential transfers between the two Bundesliga giants.

Despite⁢ avoiding discussion ⁢of a possible move to Munich, Schlotterbeck readily discussed his partnership ‍with Bayern’s newest addition, Jonathan Tah. The two will feature together in Germany’s defense at Windsor Park following the national team’s ⁤4-0 victory against Luxembourg.

“I’ve known Jona for a few years now and I’m always happy to play with him. We complement each other well,” Schlotterbeck‍ said. Tah joined Bayern on ⁣a free transfer from Bayer Leverkusen this summer. Schlotterbeck himself is currently under contract with Dortmund until 2027. He further praised Tah’s qualities, stating, “Jona is very communicative on‌ the pitch and is simply critically important for me.⁤ Defensively, he has been a very strong defender for ⁤years‍ now and has done extremely well.”
