East Naples Progress Plan Proposes Two 12-Story Buildings, New oakes Farms Market
EAST NAPLES, FL – A major redevelopment project proposed for East Naples could dramatically alter the landscape off Davis Boulevard, bringing two 12-story buildings and a new Oakes Farms Market to the area. The project, spearheaded by Alfie Oakes in partnership with Naples resident Chris Bower, is currently in the pre-application phase with Collier County.
the development would encompass three parcels: the former 1.17-acre Salvation Army thrift store site at 2255 davis Blvd., acquired by Bower’s Christopher J. Bower Living Trust for $6 million in December; the former 1.68-acre grocery store site purchased for $7 million in November; and a 2.91-acre site at 1420 Brookside Drive, currently owned by a limited liability company tied to Alfie oakes.
Plans submitted to the county include a pedestrian bridge over Brookside Drive connecting the two 12-story structures.County staff have already raised concerns regarding the potential impact of the development’s height on the adjacent single-family neighborhood, particularly along the northern boundary of Brookside Drive, and have suggested a design that provides a smoother transition.
Oakes is developing the project with Chris Bower, who acquired the two parcels through his living trust in late 2024. RVi Planning + Landscape Architecture in bonita Springs is listed as the applicant.Formal applications have not yet been filed with Collier County.
