Pixel Watch 4 Delivers Substantial Battery Life Gains, Alongside System Refinements
BREMERHAVEN, GERMANY – Google‘s pixel Watch 4 offers a notable improvement in battery performance compared to its predecessors, alongside system updates, according to a recent review. While battery capacity increases modestly from 307/420 mAh to 325/455 mAh (depending on model size), the impact on runtime is meaningful.
Google now claims up to 30 (41mm) or 40 (45mm) hours of use with the always-on display (AoD) enabled, and up to 72 hours in energy saving mode – a substantial leap from the Pixel Watch 3’s 24/36 hour figures.Testing confirms these gains, with one reviewer reporting 87-20% battery remaining at the end of a full working day with AoD active and regular use, including calls and notifications.
The reviewer notes this improvement is particularly impactful for users who previously needed to charge their Pixel Watch daily, now perhaps able to postpone charging for up to two days. Other enhancements include a redesigned charging port. While acknowledging that competitors like Amazfit offer even longer battery life, the Pixel watch 4’s improvements are described as “remarkable.” The review suggests prospective buyers consider upgrading, as prices for the older model are likely to fall.
