MLS Announces 2025 22 Under 22 Watch List,Spotlighting League’s Rising Stars
Major League Soccer has unveiled its initial watch list for the 2025 22 Under 22 rankings,recognizing a cohort of promising young players poised to make a meaningful impact. Among those highlighted is Minnesota United’s Emmanuel Ibarra, described as a crucial component of the Loons’ successful campaign.Ibarra’s development began with Atlético Tucumán in Argentina.
Colorado Rapids’ forward Darren Yapi, nearing his 100th career MLS appearance, is also featured. the 20-year-old homegrown player has achieved a career-best 7 goals and 2 assists in 28 games this season.
Houston Dynamo FC’s Brooklyn Raines, a 20-year-old homegrown talent, has impressed with his passing and defensive capabilities. Raines recently earned a spot on the United States’ 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup squad and has logged a career-high 1,620 minutes played. He progressed through the Houston Dynamo FC and Barca Residency Academy systems.
Rounding out the initial selections is Columbus Crew midfielder Taha Habroune, also representing the US at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup. the 19-year-old homegrown player is noted for his skillful passing and dribbling abilities.
