Rally against anti-Semitism: “From Munich a signal goes out

1,500 ​Rally in Munich to Condemn Rising Antisemitism in ⁢germany

Munich, Germany – In a powerful display of solidarity, approximately 1,500 people braved heavy‍ rainfall on ⁢Sunday to⁢ demonstrate against antisemitism in munich’s Königsplatz. The rally comes amid growing concerns ​over‌ a surge​ in hate speech and threats targeting Jewish communities in Germany,and in the context of ​ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

The notable​ turnout‍ drew strong reactions ‌from prominent figures. Volker​ Beck, former Green Party member of parliament and chairman of the German-Israeli Society, ‌declared from the ‍podium: “From Munich, a signal goes out: We are taking‌ this country back!” Beck’s statement underscored the ⁣determination to ​reclaim Germany from ⁤the⁣ rising tide of antisemitism.

The demonstration⁣ was addressed by a diverse group of leaders including Talya Lador⁢ Fresher, Israel’s Consul General; Kerstin ‍Griese, State Secretary in the Federal ministry ⁢of Labour and ‌Social Affairs; Ilse Aigner, President of⁣ the Bavarian Parliament; Bavarian Minister-President Markus Söder; Josef Schuster,⁣ President of the Central Council of Jews in Germany; and Ralph Friedländer, President of the Swiss⁢ Federation of Jewish Communities.

Beck specifically linked the rally to the increasing hostility towards Jewish people within Germany, and also addressed the current⁣ situation in the Middle East, calling on ​Hamas to accept a 20-point peace plan ⁣proposed ⁤by former US president Donald Trump as a means ⁢to end the violence.

The demonstration ‍serves as a clear message ‌that Germany will not tolerate antisemitism and stands firmly with ‌its Jewish community.
