Hangzhou Unveils Plan to become Global Digital Trade hub with New Exhibition Ecosystem
Hangzhou, China – September 27, 2025 – Hangzhou is launching a comprehensive initiative to construct a new exhibition ecosystem, aiming to solidify its position as a leading center for digital trade and connect with international partners. The plan, announced today, focuses on bolstering the city’s capabilities in attracting and hosting large-scale events, fostering innovation, and facilitating cross-border commerce.
From September 25th to 29th, discussions centered on strengthening Hangzhou’s role in the global digital economy. This initiative comes as China seeks to expand its influence in international trade and leverage its technological advancements.The move is expected to impact businesses across multiple sectors,particularly those involved in e-commerce,technology,and related services,and will require significant investment in infrastructure and talent development. The goal is to create a dynamic platform that attracts both domestic and international exhibitors and attendees, driving economic growth and innovation.
The new ecosystem will feature 154 key projects, with a total investment of 33 billion yuan. These projects include the construction of an 1,800-mu exhibition complex, representing approximately 1.2 million square meters, and a 4.2-kilometer digital trade corridor. This corridor will focus on showcasing cutting-edge technologies and facilitating trade connections.
The initiative also emphasizes the importance of attracting high-level talent and fostering a supportive surroundings for businesses.
