Deutsche Bahn to Expand International Rail Bookings, Introduce New Routes in December
Berlin - Travelers across Europe will have more options and streamlined booking when Deutsche Bahn (DB) implements its new timetable on December 14th, with bookings opening October 15th. Teh changes include expanded international ticket availability and new high-speed rail connections.
The timetable update will significantly benefit passengers traveling to and from Germany, offering integrated ticketing for routes spanning multiple countries. DB will now allow booking of many inner French TGV connections, as well as Eurostar tickets, directly thru Bahn.de or the DB Navigator app. This means travelers can purchase tickets for journeys like Frankfurt to London or Paris to Marseille in a single transaction. Additionally, night train services operated by Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) that travel through Germany are now accessible via DB’s sales channels.
New routes will also become available. From September, an ICE train will run from cologne to Antwerp four times daily, stopping at Brussels Airport. Furthermore, a new ICE connection will link Prague to Copenhagen via Dresden, Berlin, and Hamburg.
Thes changes aim to simplify international rail travel and encourage a shift towards more sustainable transportation options. The expanded booking options and new routes are expected to appeal to both leisure and business travelers.
