Yakuza Kiwami 3’s New Chapter, “Dark Ties,” Arrives This Fall Alongside Console & PC Release
Fans of teh Yakuza series are in for a treat: a new story expansion, “Dark Ties,” is coming this fall alongside the release of Yakuza Kiwami 3 on PC and consoles. The expansion offers a deeper dive into the backstory of Yoshitaka Mine, an enigmatic figure previously featured in the series.
“Dark Ties” isn’t integrated into the main Yakuza Kiwami 3 narrative; instead, it functions as a standalone campaign. The story follows Mine’s journey after he lost everything following success as a startup founder, leading him to immerse himself in the world of the Yakuza. Developers describe a dramatic tale fueled by a search for genuine connection, punctuated by intense boxing matches and engaging side content. The narrative will feature converging paths for two characters, ultimately ”shaking the foundations of fate.”
The Yakuza team also previewed a new video for their upcoming, currently unnamed project, Stranger than Heaven, during the RGG Summit.
This release marks a notable prospect for PC players to experience Yakuza Kiwami 3 and its new content, while console players will also gain access to the expanded story.
