kojima Productions Unveils First Cast and Art for New “Metal Gear-Style” Game, Physint
Kojima Productions offered a first look at its next project, Physint, a “stealth action title” reminiscent of the Metal Gear Solid series, during its 10th Anniversary livestream, ”Beyond the Strand,” today. The game, announced for PlayStation in January 2024, remains in early development but now features confirmed cast members and initial concept art.
Actors Don Lee, Charlee Fraser, and Minami Hamabe will appear in Physint.Hamabe was featured in an in-engine presentation, wiht Hideo Kojima noting his satisfaction with the rendering of her skin. Sony Interactive Entertainment Studio head Herman Hulst reiterated Sony’s close collaboration with Kojima Productions on the title.
Originally revealed as a “next-generation action espionage game,” Physint is a personal project for Kojima, described as a “culmination of [his] work” aiming to “transcend the barriers between film and video games.” The game’s development began after Kojima reconsidered his priorities following a period of illness and surgery, responding to long-standing fan requests.
Kojima previously stated in May that the game would likely take “another five or six years” to complete and was, as of August 2025, still being worked on ”all by [him]self.” Full production on Physint was slated to begin after the release of Death Stranding 2.
