Ghostface Killah says he’ll rap “until god is here to take my life,” even from his deathbed, as he discusses his new album Supreme Clientele 2, the ongoing Wu-Tang Clan tour, adn the Drake lawsuit in a new interview with XXL. The album, released in August via Mass Appeal as part of their Legend Has it series, is the long-awaited sequel to his 2000 critically acclaimed album Supreme Clientele.
The release of Supreme Clientele 2 comes after years of fan requests and marks a notable moment in Ghostface Killah’s career, coinciding with a busy year for both him and the Wu-Tang Clan.The group is currently on their Wu-Tang Clan Forever: Final Chapter Tour, with a European leg scheduled, while ghostface together released Set the Tone last year. Despite the “farewell” tour, Ghostface Killah insists he has no plans to retire from music.
Featuring guest appearances from Nas,Raekwon,Method Man,Conway the Machine,and Styles P,Supreme Clientele 2 arrived on the 25th anniversary of the original. Ghostface Killah explained to XXL that the timing felt right, driven by consistent demand from his fanbase. “The fans was calling for it, first of all,” he said. “I could have been took care of buisness, but I was doing projects for other people.”
The interview also touched on current events in hip-hop, including Drake’s lawsuit against Future over the song “Not Like Us.” Ghostface Killah addressed the situation, along with discussing potential movie roles and other upcoming projects.
