D4VD Tour Canceled Amid Inquiry into Teenager’s Death
The remaining dates on singer D4VD’s world tour, including two performances in the Netherlands, have been canceled as authorities continue to investigate the discovery of a deceased 15-year-old girl in a vehicle registered to the artist. The cancellations follow a week of escalating scrutiny surrounding D4VD, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, after los Angeles police found the body of Celeste Rivas in the trunk of a car linked to him.
The tour’s abrupt halt impacts fans anticipating shows at Amsterdam’s Paradiso and Melkweg on October 9th and 10th. Paradiso’s website posted a statement from the singer’s management citing “unforeseen circumstances” for the cancellations, mirroring the reason given for the cancellation of the final two U.S. tour dates. The case has triggered a criminal investigation, though no arrests have been made, and raises questions about the circumstances surrounding Rivas’ disappearance and death.
rivas had been missing since last year and was found in a “serious state of dissolution” within the vehicle, which was located at a recovery company depot after reports of a foul odor. Police indicate multiple individuals had access to the car. Investigators searched the residence where Burke was staying following the discovery.
The Melkweg and Paradiso venues had previously stated they would seek clarification regarding the case after news of Rivas’ discovery surfaced. The investigation into the cause of Rivas’ death remains ongoing.
