Free Heart Health Screenings Available in Treviglio This week
treviglio, Italy – ASST Bergamo Ovest is hosting a “Cardiovascular Open Week” in treviglio from September 26th to October 2nd, offering free screenings and information aimed at promoting early diagnosis and prevention of cardiovascular diseases, including abdominal aortic aneurysm, atherosclerosis, stroke, and heart attack. The initiative, promoted by the Onda Foundation, will feature an information gazebo in Piazza Cameroni and free exams at the Treviglio Hospital.
Residents of ASST Bergamo Ovest are encouraged to take advantage of the free screenings available. On September 30th and october 2nd, appointments can be made (via email to [email protected] until seats are filled) for either an Ecocolordoppler of superioral trunks or an abdominal aorta ultrasound. These screenings are reserved for resident women who haven’t undergone these tests in the last 12 months and have a medical indication for them.

* September 27th: Free electrocardiograms will be offered in the Cardiology area of the Treviglio Hospital Poliambulatorio from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.Bookings can be made from September 23rd via WhatsApp message to 375.6481622.
* September 28th: Free cholesterol and blood sugar tests, along with blood pressure measurements, will be available at a gazebo in Piazza Cameroni, organized in collaboration with the “Heart and Life” association, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
Giovanni Palazzo, DG of ASST Bergamo Ovest, emphasized the accessibility of preventative care, stating: “Making prevention, especially for cardiovascular diseases, is crucial but also simple. Thanks to the control of lifestyles, especially in those who present risk or familiarity factors, important cardiovascular damage can be avoided.”
Antonella Villa, director of midwife and gynecology, added, “Cardiovascular diseases have more risk factors that have been identified over time and have potential reversibility: today these diseases are frequently enough considered foreseeable.”
The event also benefits from the support of the “Heart and Life” association, alongside cardiologists, vascular surgeons, and family nurses and communities. Residents are urged to book appointments quickly as spaces are limited.
