‘Hacks‘ to Conclude After Fifth Season, Hannah Einbinder Reveals
LOS ANGELES – HBO’s critically acclaimed comedy “Hacks” will conclude after a fifth and final season, star Hannah Einbinder revealed Monday during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. The declaration brings an end to the series following the complex relationship between legendary Las Vegas comedian Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) and her Gen Z comedy writer, Ava Daniels (Einbinder).
Einbinder shared the news while discussing her recent Emmy win for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, an award she playfully acknowledged coming after four previous nominations in 2021, 2022, 2024, and this year. “We’re wrapping up with season five,” she confirmed. “It’s a bittersweet feeling, but we’re all really excited about the chance to give the show the sendoff it deserves.”
The show, created by Lucia Aniello, Paul W.Downs, and Jen Statsky, debuted in 2021 and quickly garnered praise for its sharp writing, nuanced performances, and exploration of generational divides. “Hacks” follows Vance and Daniels as they navigate the challenges of the entertainment industry and forge an unlikely bond.
Einbinder expressed gratitude for the show’s impact on her career and personal life, stating, “‘Hacks’ has changed my life in every conceivable way.
