Xiaomi Unveils Smart Camera C500 with Intelligent Motion Tracking
BEIJING – Xiaomi has announced the global release of its Smart Camera C500, a new addition to its smart home security lineup featuring advanced motion tracking and high-resolution video capture.The camera is positioned as a user-pleasant and complete security solution for modern homes.
The C500 boasts a 6-megapixel professional lens capable of recording 3200 x 1800 video, paired with an F/1.6 aperture for enhanced clarity. Its 360° panoramic coverage and 116° virtual field of view ensure comprehensive monitoring, while a 1/2.45-inch image sensor improves low-light performance. This makes the C500 a compelling option for users seeking reliable security, particularly in challenging lighting conditions.
A key feature of the C500 is its intelligent tracking capability.Utilizing a pan-and-tilt mechanism, the camera automatically follows moving subjects, ensuring they remain in view. Once the subject leaves the frame, the camera automatically returns to its original position.The device also includes two-way voice calling and a physical shutter for enhanced privacy, which can be activated manually or scheduled.
Connectivity is provided through Wi-Fi 6 dual-band networks (2.4GHz/5GHz) and Bluetooth 5.0. Users can store recordings locally on a MicroSD card up to 256GB in capacity, or utilize cloud storage or Network Attached Storage (NAS) options.
The camera integrates with Xiaomi’s Hyperos Connect ecosystem, allowing seamless integration with other smart home devices.Voice control is also supported via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
The Xiaomi Smart camera C500 is available in white, with dimensions of 79 x 79 x 119 mm. while an official release date and price have not yet been announced, Xiaomi anticipates a European price point similar to the Smart Camera C500 Pro, currently retailing for €69.99 (and presently available for €49.99 in the Mi Store). The device utilizes the MJA1 security chip for data protection.
