Early Saturday morning, a 26-year-old woman was found shot to death in the 1700-block of North Kimball Avenue in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, near Logan Square, around 2:45 a.m. Police responding to a call found the woman unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head. She was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital and pronounced dead. No arrests have been made, and Area Five detectives are investigating.
Later Saturday, a 17-year-old boy was fatally shot in the Morgan Park neighborhood. The shooting occurred in the 11300-block of South carpenter Street around 7:15 p.m. The victim, identified by the Cook county Medical Examiner’s Office as Ian williams, was standing on the sidewalk when someone in a blue sedan fired shots, striking him in the chest. He was transported to Christ Hospital in critical condition and pronounced dead. The driver of the sedan fled northbound on Carpenter Street. One person is in custody, and Area Two detectives are investigating.
