Man Dies After jumping From Building ‍Near French Interior Ministry in Paris


A man died this Thursday⁤ afternoon after falling from the fourth floor⁣ of a⁢ building on Place Beauvau in Paris, the location of the French Ministry of​ the Interior. ​ Police confirmed the incident to Le Parisian, and ⁢emergency services‌ were unable to revive the individual.

Prior to the fall, the man reportedly displayed a banner and distributed leaflets containing a ⁤message referencing⁣ the 2018 murder‌ of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi. ‍The leaflets‌ reportedly⁤ stated,”Going in peace rather than being ‌kidnapped and ending up like‍ Jamal Khashoggi.” Khashoggi was killed at the Saudi Arabian consulate in Istanbul, Turkey, an event that⁣ drew international condemnation.

Firefighters utilized a large-scale ladder to access the apartment located ‍beneath the roofline from which the man fell. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim. Place Beauvau, ​known for its high security due to the presence of the Ministry of the Interior, was temporarily closed to traffic following the incident. The surrounding area is also home to art galleries on the ground floor of nearby buildings.
