NEW YORK – October 4th marks teh return of Saturday Night Live to NBC, and with it, a largely familiar lineup of comedic talent. Following a notable cast turnover after its historic 50th season, SNL has confirmed its ensemble for Season 51, balancing seasoned veterans with fresh faces.
The upcoming season will see the return of core cast members including Kenan Thompson,Michael Che,Colin Jost,Marcello Hernández,ego Nwodim,Mikey Day,Andrew Dismukes,Chloe Fineman,James Austin Johnson,Sarah Sherman,and Bowen Yang. Featured players ashley Padilla and Jane Wickline are also expected back for season 51.
several stars will not be returning for the new season.Heidi Gardner departs after eight seasons, while Michal Longfellow, Devon Walker, and Emil Wakim each leave after three seasons. John Higgins, of the Please Don’t Destroy troupe, also exits, though fellow troupe member Ben Marshall will continue with SNL.
Joining the cast are newcomers Tommy Brennan, jeremy Culhane, Kam Patterson, and Veronika Slowikowska. Marshall’s continued presence ensures a link to the popular Please Don’t Destroy sketches.
