“19th Medical Record” Blu-ray & DVD BOX set to Release January 30, 2026
Fans of the acclaimed TBS Sunday theater drama “19th Medical Record” will be able to own the complete series with the release of a Blu-ray & DVD BOX on January 30, 2026. The set will include all episodes of the series, which captivated audiences with its realistic portrayal of the challenges faced by doctors and patients within a busy hospital surroundings.Based on Fujiya Katsuhito’s “19th Medical Record: Tokushige Akira’s Interview” (Zenon Comics/Core Mix), the drama stars Matsumoto Jun as Tokushige Akira, a self-described “general practitioner” who arrives at Uotora General Hospital, a place characterized by time-pressed doctors and demanding patients. The series also features Koshiba Fuka, Arata Mackenyu, Okazaki Taiiku, and Iketani Nobue among its cast. The release provides a permanent record of the show’s exploration of medical ethics, systemic pressures, and the human cost of healthcare, offering viewers a chance to revisit the compelling narrative and performances.
The production team includes screenwriter Tsubota Fumi, composer Okehazama Arisa, and producer Iwasaki Aina. Aimyon‘s theme song, “about ichi,” will also be included. Additional staff contributions come from Masuda Chia (planning), Aiba Megumi (cooperative producer), Aoyama Guiyang Pang Ze Takaoyi Izumi Masayoshi (performance), Yoshifuji Mei and Takada Osamu (formation).
