Justin Bieber‘s⁤ 2015 music video for “Sorry” has ‌surpassed 4 billion views on YouTube, the platform announced Thursday (Sept. 4). The milestone‌ places the track among an elite group of only 15 music videos ‍to achieve⁤ this level of success.

The visually ⁣striking video, notably ⁢absent of Bieber himself, features choreography by dance star Parris Goebel ‍and a troupe of dancers in vibrant costumes. While “Sorry” is one of Bieber’s most popular videos, it’s still ⁤behind Luis Fonsi and Daddy ⁢Yankee’s “Despacito,” wich currently leads with 8.8 billion views. The achievement underscores Bieber’s continued dominance on the platform and in the‍ music ⁤industry, even as he ‌concurrently releases new music – announcing a⁣ second ⁤album, ‌ Swag II, ⁢set for release at⁤ midnight following the⁣ July 11 debut of Swag.

“Sorry,” lifted from Bieber’s 2015 album Purpose, became⁢ his second song to reach No. 1 on ‌the Billboard Hot 100, following “What Do You Mean?”‌ in September 2015. Bieber co-wrote the track with Justin Tranter and Julia michaels, alongside co-producers Skrillex and Bloodpop.

This latest accomplishment revisits Bieber’s ‍early YouTube record-breaking success. In 2010, his “Baby” video held the title of the most-watched YouTube‌ video, surpassing⁣ Lady Gaga’s “Bad romance,” ⁤until Psy’s “Gangnam Style”⁣ claimed the crown in November 2012.

beyond “Sorry,” Bieber boasts five other videos within YouTube’s Billion views Club: “Baby” (3.4 billion views), “What Do You Mean?” (2.2 billion‌ views), “Love Yourself”⁤ (1.7 ‌billion views), “Never Say Never” featuring ⁤jaden Smith (1.2 billion views), and ‍”Beauty‍ and a Beat” featuring Nicki ‌Minaj (1.1 billion views).
