Two of Uya Kuya‘s Cats Recovered Following Home Invasion
Jakarta – Two cats belonging to television personality Uya Kuya have been recovered after a brazen looting at his in-laws’ residence in Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, on August 31, 2025. The recovery efforts involved collaboration with local residents and were publicized by singer and actress Sherina Munaf.
The incident, which led to the arrest of nine suspects by police, initially left the fate of several of Kuya’s feline companions uncertain. The cats’ disappearance sparked concern among fans and prompted a search effort. The prosperous recovery of two cats, named Bulan and Lili, offers relief amid the ongoing investigation and highlights the community’s response to the crime.
Bulan was initially found by a resident who was then asked for ransom by one of the perpetrators. Sherina Munaf shared updates on the cat’s condition via her social media, stating, “At present the moon is in a safe condition at the home of people who are redeeming it and we have contact to continue to monitor their progress,” on tuesday, September 2, 2025.
Munaf also confirmed the recovery of Lili in a short video, noting the cat appeared healthy and was playing normally.
Police have apprehended nine individuals in connection with the looting of Uya Kuya’s in-laws’ home. Further details regarding the cats’ return to Kuya’s care have not yet been released.
