Venezuelan Police Disrupt “Los Jobiteros” Criminal Network, Seize Go-Fast Boat in Zulia State
Maracaibo, Zulia State – A major operation by the Bolivarian National Police Corps (CPNB) has resulted in the dismantling of a key logistical base used by the “Los Jobiteros” criminal institution in the Miranda municipality of Zulia state. The raid, conducted during a routine inspection, represents a significant blow to the group’s operations in the region.
“Los Jobiteros” are a structured organized crime group (GEDO) known for involvement in fuel smuggling, drug trafficking, and other illicit activities along the Venezuelan coast. This latest operation highlights the ongoing efforts by Venezuelan security forces to combat organized crime and regain control of strategic areas. The seizure of this ”caleta” - a hidden storage and operational site – disrupts the group’s ability to move contraband and maintain its presence in Zulia.
Authorities seized a Go-Fast type vessel, along with four outboard engines, seven bulletproof vests, two portable radios, and twenty 220-liter fuel pipes. Navigation instruments were also recovered, indicating the site was used for coordinating maritime operations. The equipment suggests a refined operation geared towards the illicit transport of goods.
Two individuals were detained in connection with the operation and have been placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry for prosecution.Investigations are ongoing to identify additional members of the network and uncover the full extent of their criminal activities.
This operation underscores the challenges faced by Venezuelan authorities in combating organized crime, particularly in border regions. The seizure of the “caleta” and associated equipment demonstrates a commitment to disrupting these networks and protecting national security.
