Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle in tucson
TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – A 34-year-old man died Saturday night after being hit by a car in Tucson. The incident occurred just after 9:15 p.m. on August 30, 2025, in the 2700 block of South Wilmot Road, near Golf Links.
Tucson Police Department (TPD) and Tucson Fire Department (TFD) personnel responded to the scene and determined Richard Daniel Townsend was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to TPD, Townsend was crossing Wilmot Road when he was struck by a northbound white 2007 BMW 328 traveling in the median lane. Investigators confirmed Townsend was not in a marked or implied crosswalk at the time of the collision.
The driver of the BMW stopped immediately and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation. TPD stated the driver showed no signs of impairment.The male driver and female passenger in the BMW were uninjured.TPD detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. As of Sunday, no criminal charges or civil citations have been issued.
